Job Type: Contract / Full-Time

 

Reports To: Senior Project Manager

 

Job Summary:

 

The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing IT projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The IT Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.


Key Responsibilities:

 

Project Planning and Management

  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.

  • Manage project scope, timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Establish and manage project communication plans, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of project progress.

 

Team Leadership and Coordination

  • Lead cross-functional project teams, providing guidance, direction, and support to team members.

  • Ensure all team members understand their roles and tasks, facilitating collaboration and productivity.

  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope, including holding regular team meetings to monitor project progress and address issues.

 

Risk Management and Problem Solving

  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation plans as necessary.

  • Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that could impact project delivery.

  • Provide analytical guidance to the project team.

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure that project deliverables meet their requirements.

  • Report project status to stakeholders, including management, project sponsors, and other key individuals.

 

Quality Assurance

  • Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring that project deliverables meet the required quality standards.

  • Conduct post-project evaluations and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

 

Budget and Resource Management

  • Manage project budgets, ensuring that all expenditures are tracked and remain within budgetary constraints.

  • Allocate resources, ensuring the right people and tools are in place for each phase of the project.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, ITIL preferred or willingness to get one.

 

Experience

  • Proven experience as an IT Project Manager or similar role, with a strong understanding of IT project management methodologies.

  • 1 to 2 years of relevant industry experience (including voluntary roles)

  • Experience working in a remote environment

 

Skills

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing project conditions.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in Agile or Scrum project management.

  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and digital transformation initiatives.

  • Experience with vendor and contract management.

 

Work Environment:

 

  • This position may require occasional travel.

  • May involve extended hours to meet project deadlines.
